Booths has increased its support for local food banks in a bid to help tackle increasing levels of poverty, which now takes in all 28 of their stores.
Each Booths store has now partnered with a local food bank or associated charity that provides food parcels and meals to those in need of support, an initiative driven by Booths Customer Experience Manager, Colin Porter.
Colin Porter said: ‘’All our stores are partnered with an assortment of local charities; from donation hubs, who distribute donations to where they’re needed, to kitchens that can make use of any surplus fresh food. This initiative is vital to help reduce food waste as well as support organisations and residents within our trading areas. The aim is to get as much surplus food to those in need.”
Porter continued “We are blessed with some fantastic partners who continue to deliver an outstanding service. The drive, commitment and understanding of the need of others makes this scheme life changing. I would like to thank our Food Bank partners for their friendship and partnership with Booths.”
