The UK’s oldest coffee roaster J. Farrer & Co, based in Kendal, has just found out that they are the recipient of a prestigious award.

The Cumbrian company, which celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2019, has been recognised with the award for Best High-Quality Tea & Coffee Brand – UK, in the annual LUXlife Magazine Food & Drink Awards 2018.

Farrer’s were presented with their award recognising the outstanding quality of their coffee, following a stringent process led by an independent panel of judges made up of industry experts from a variety of sectors; including international business, the financial sector, journalism, food and travel.

During the process the judges looked for evidence of extensive expertise, dedication to customer service and client satisfaction, with an ongoing commitment to excellence and innovation.

Each year the Food & Drink Awards look for individuals and business who offer outstanding gastronomic experiences and the highest quality produce to their customers. They reveal the best establishments from around the globe, from artisan kitchens to innovative street cuisine, and gourmet restaurants to gastro pubs.

The awards also seek to uncover the work done by the very best food and drink producers and suppliers from around the world. After all it is their produce that allows the top eateries to deliver the best food and drink to their guests.

Dave Walsh, General Manager, of J. Farrer & Co, said: ‘’The whole team at Farrer’s take great pride in the products we create, and we are justifiably proud to be recognised with this award. We take time to source the best coffee beans and finest teas from across the globe to ensure that we deliver the very best product to every one of our customers. Our dedicated team of four master roasters produce coffee with amazing credentials, they know their trade inside out and that shows. We are proud of our long association with Kendal, we have made it our business to contribute to the vibrancy of the town over the years and if we can continue to do this whilst further enhancing the reputation of the town as a food and drink destination then we will be happy.’’

Commenting on the success of the awards and their deserving winners, Katherine Benton, LUXlife Food & Drink Awards co-ordinator, said: “Every one of our deserving winners has proven themselves truly worthy of one of these prestigious accolades. We thank them for their hard work, determination and dedication to excellence. Every winner should be justifiably proud of their achievement and would like to wish them all the very best for the future.”
