Macclesfield based Junction Leisure Ltd have announced the acquisition of Happy Valley Brewery from David & Nicola Hughes.
The pair set up and established Happy Valley as a brewer of award winning Ales based in the heart of Cheshire in 2010. Their unique take on brewing has resulted in classic beers such as “Black Out XO Rum Porter”, “Little Mill Town Mild”, “Black Magic” and “Sworn Secret”.
Junction Leisure have said that they want to ‘passionately’ continue the Happy Valley legacy, making and selling the beers in their own pubs, as well as to new and existing customers alike.
The brewery will be sited at their Oxford road pub that best celebrates craft beer and food – 73andPIZZA . This will become Macclesfield’s first Brew Pub with the both the brewery and pub occupying the site.
Junction Leisure Owner Sean Bradbury said “It is not everyday that you get the opportunity to develop an iconic local brand such as Happy Valley. David & Nicola’s passion for a successful handover and awesome beers make this a great fit. With our close links to the Bollington area, our first pub being the Crown in the shadows of White Nancy, this is a perfect match”
David Hughes said “With a passion for local pubs at a time when many are closing Sean and his team are hugely committed to taking forward our venture. I look forward to drinking Happy Valley Beers for many years to come and will be working with the new Head Brewer Tim in order to make sure that that the quality for which I’m known is maintained”
New Head Brewer Tim Holland commented “I’m really looking forward to carrying on the tradition of Happy Valley award winning beers”.
