Lakes restaurant manager in the running for a national award

Craig MacFarlane, Restaurant Manager, at Ambleside’s Rothay Manor, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the annual Boutique Hotelier Awards in the Restaurant Manager of the Year category.

Each year the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards celebrate the crème de la crème of the hospitality industry, showering praise and recognition on hard-working staff members.

There are a total of 11 categories – ranging from Restaurant Manager to Concierge of the Year. Now in its sixth year, these are awards with a significant difference. Rather than handing out gongs to business owners, they search for individuals and teams who work tirelessly every day to give their guests the best possible experience.

The Restaurant Manager of the Year award shortlist is made up of managers you deliver the ultimate dining experience for their guests. They are consummate professionals, who go that extra mile to ensure that their guests experience only the very best service in their restaurants and as a result return time and time again.

The shortlisted finalists for the Restaurant Manager of the Year Award are:

Jacopo Nardini – One Aldwych, London

Mariano Camerlingo – The Ned, London

Craig MacFarlane – Rothay Manor, Ambleside

Now the shortlists has been announced Craig and his fellow finalist will travel to London to find out who will win through later this month.

All that remains is for the esteemed judging panel made up of top industry experts to cogitate and digest the entries… The judges are Peter Hancock, Chief Executive, Pride of Britain Hotels, Giovanni Grossi from The AA, Philip Turner, Founder, The Chestnut Group and Michele Mella, General Manager, Barnsley House.

The winners of the sixth Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards will be announced at Hilton Olympia, at a champagne reception on the evening of 15th October, the first day of Independent Hotel Show 2019.

Jamie Shail, Hotelier and Owner of Rothay Manor commented: ‘’ We are certainly lucky to have this consummate professional working with us, especially as we begin to embark on the next exciting stage of our journey as we further develop our restaurant offer. Craig has nurtured and grown his team in the time he has been with us, sharing his in-depth knowledge and there is no doubt at all that he is a consummate professional and thoroughly deserves to be recognised in this way alongside his peers.’’
