News has reached FDMB North West that the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, which takes place each September, and its sister event, the Liverpool Spring Food and Drink Festival have both been cancelled.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Founder Denise Harris, from SKEvents said; “Due to the extremely high increase of costs required to put on the Liverpool Food & Drink Festival, the festival is no longer sustainable.”
The Companies House website shows that SKEvents went into voluntary liquidation in January, with an extraordinary winding up resolution passed on February 1.
Running for more than 10 years, the festival has been one of the largest food and drink festivals in the North West and has attracted in the region of 40,000 visitors to Sefton Park for the weekend-long event.
