It has been a busy start to the year for Kendal-based Ginger Bakers, and this week has seen the business, headed up by Cumbrian entrepreneur Lisa Smith, launch an amazing six new cakes.
Lisa told FDMB North West: “This is the most we have ever launched at once. We have so many ideas it is difficult to hold back!
“We always listen to our customers requests to make sure they get what they want, and this has resulted in two new vegan cakes. We have a vegan Lemon & Blackcurrant and a vegan, gluten free and sugar free Brazil Nut and Sour Cherry Boost Bar amongst them.”
Lisa was also excited to tell FDMB North West of two other projects that she is particularly proud of.
“We are linking up with local organic farm and mental health charity, Growing Well. We will be using some of their organic produce in our cakes and we will be giving back a percentage the sales revenue of the products they are in. This is an exciting project and is set to develop we will have more updates as they happen.”
“We are also doing a great collaboration with our Neighbour Rinaldo’s Coffee. At the beginning of this month we ran our first “Brownie & Barista” workshop, and we are set to hold our second on Saturday 6th April.
“This is a one day experiential workshop where you come to Ginger Bakers and learn how to create the perfect brownie then head over to Rinaldo’s for a spot of lunch, provided by another of our local heros – Babaganoush in Kendal. During the afternoon you will be taught how to make great coffee.”
Lisa Smith will be telling her ‘start up story’ at FDMB Live on March 26th
