New Restaurant Manager, Daniel Fox has joined the team at the elegant Signature Restaurant at 4-star Wordsworth Hotel & Spa in Grasmere.
The sophisticated Signature Restaurant is developing a reputation for its seasonal menus and holds an AA rosette for culinary excellence.
Daniel Fox brings a wealth of experience mostly gained from his position at the Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside.
Ginger Bakers will provide support to fuel conservation volunteers, at Friends of the Lake District’s Duddon Fell Care Day on Thursday 8th November.
Participants will keep their energy levels tip top with a delicious range of cakes supplied by the Plumgarth-based Bakers.
Lisa from Ginger Bakers contacted the charity after seeing a press release asking for volunteers and offered to provide a range of their delicious goods to support the cause.
Their limited edition spirits are now available in store.

Family owned Lancashire cheese-makers, Dewlay, have won a listing to supply Beacon Fell Traditional Lancashire Cheese P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin), one of only a handful of English cheeses with the much sought after accreditation, to selected Waitrose stores.
The product will roll out to key stores in the North West from Wednesday 10th October.
“Beacon Fell Traditional Lancashire cheese is a real hidden gem,” said Dewlay Commercial Director, Conor Daunt who added, “the cheese is a wonderful celebration of the cheese-making provenance in Lancashire dating back generations”.
An award-winning restaurant in Kirkby Lonsdale, which is due to play a starring role in a new film, has been put up for sale by its owners.
John and Renata Strange have put The Crossing Point Café up for sale with a guide price of £165,000 for the lease plus a weekly rent of £413.
The Crossing Point Café, which is in the town’s Market Square, was opened by the couple in 2014.
It has since won the 2016 Cafélife Gold Award, been a finalist in the Cumbria Life Food & Drink Awards in 2016 and 2107 and features in the 2018 Waitrose Good Food Guide.
The Co-Operative Group are set to expand their free Taxi Delivery Service by 12 stores by the end of the year. As part of the trial, shoppers with a spend of £25 or more (in a single transaction) and within a 5-mile radius, will be entitled a free taxi home.
Taxi firms are vetted to meet The Co-Operatives strict criteria, and the customer agrees to a mutually convenient time for the lift home, and shopping delivery.
Co-op said the home delivery service proves particularly popular amongst those who wish to go out into the community to do their shopping, but may struggle to carry their purchases home.
Chris Conway, Co-op Head of Food Digital, said: “Retailers need to be increasingly agile in their operations, and the Co-op is committed to exploring new ways to innovate which can create increased consumer choice, ease, speed and convenience.
“While it is still very early days, the response from customers and colleagues has been extremely enthusiastic, with many ‘hailing’ the new taxi scheme and added convenience a huge success, going so far as to describe it as a life-line which helps to overcome social isolation in our local communities.”
UKHospitality warned that any new statutory legislation regarding tipping would be an unnecessary burden. The trade body also highlighted voluntary measures have been put in place by UKHospitality and the wider sector to ensure fair practice.
